The appalling scenes from the French city of Nice highlight once again the heavy price that the citizens of Western nations are paying for their government’s misguided belief that it is possible to use Islamist terrorism as a weapon of foreign policy.
While supporters of ISIS/Daesh have been quick to claim the massacre as a triumph for their favoured Jihadi gang, the fact is that the modus operandi of using a truck to mow down pedestrians was first proposed in the Al Qaeda magazine Inspire back in 2010.
The piece was entitled “The Ultimate Mowing Machine”
The key message was this:
“To achieve maximum carnage, you need to pick up as much speed as you can while still retaining good control of your vehicle in order to maximize your inertia and be able to strike as many people as possible in your first run. …The ideal location is a place where there are a maximum number of pedestrians and the least number of vehicles. In fact if you can get through to “pedestrian only” locations that exist in some downtown (city center) areas, that would be fabulous. There are some places that are closed down for vehicles at certain times due to the swarms of people. If you have access to firearms, carry them with you so that you may use them to finish of your work if your vehicle gets grounded during the attack….This idea could be implemented in countries like Israel, the U.S., Britain, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Denmark, Holland and other countries”

In addition to later spawning ISIS, Al Qaeda in Syria also mutated into Jabhat al-Nusra, the terrorist army which throughout the civil war in Syria has regularly co-operated with, and been armed by, ‘moderate rebel’ forces armed and supported by, among others, the government of France.
The Obama regime recently openly considered backing Al Nusra as a way of beating both ISIS and the forces of the Syrian government, which has been fighting this same Islamist terror machine for nearly six years.
